Flavia Pinheiro
Flavia Pinheiro is an Amsterdam-based choreographer, performer and education from Brazil. Her research foregrounds networks of resilience and resistance to systems of knowledge by fabulative speculations in Interspecies Choreography. Her artistic practice in an ongoing attempt to create breathing and vital conditions; in an unstoppable dance she creates improbable exchanges with nonhumans such as bacterias, plants, birds, antelopes and ghosts.
Her research is on on somato-interspecies futurities, using fabulation and choreographic experimentation to reimagine ways of being together across species and bodies.
Flavia’s works have been presented widely internationally, including at Holland Festival, Museumnacht and Frascati (NL), Inkonst, Stockholm Art Week (SE) and Antisezona (Zagreb), SESC, JUNTA Festival, Palco Giratório, VERBO Performance Art Festival, Itaú Cultural, CCBB Rio de Janeiro (BR).
She holds an MA from DAS Choreography and has received support from the Aart Janszen Fund, André Veltkamp Beurs, the 3Package Deal, and the Mondriaan Fonds.
